When the Quiet Screams

When the Quiet Screams is an autobiography of Tiare Tuairau's life in poetry form. It speaks of the adversities she's faced and the healing process that followed. The book is dedicated to her grandmother, Poua Beaver, who passed away while the book was being written. Consequently, Poua's two namesakes--Tiare Tuairau and first cousin Katherine Beaver--carry her great legacy through their talents and creativity.

5Excellent Poetry Book With Beautiful Photographs  Sep 10, 2008
By Millie Becker "MB"
I actually met Tiare at a local poetry reading which motivated me to buy her book. I found this book to be both a literary enjoyment as well as visibly pleasing. Filled with unique, versatile & creative poetry by its author, Tiare Tuairau, When The Quiet Screams is further enhanced by her first cousin, Katherine Beaver, with beautiful & breaktaking photography. Heartwarming also is the dedication to their late grandmother.

The poetry is crisp, unpretentious and interesting. Every poem tells a story reflecting the personality of the author and left me wanting more. While I enjoyed every poem for its own merit, there were favorites such as Star of Manute'a, Blast For Me, Sometimes I'm an Atheist, The Perfect Start & Cover Girl. Overall, what I completely loved was the written rhythm and imagery portrayed in this writer's poetry. An invaluable addition to our Home Library, this tome was worth every cent! A great read, I look forward to future publications from Ms. Tuairau.
