This is a wonderful, colorful tale about a little boy named Zachary who loves to sleep with his favorite blankie and his favorite thumb in his mouth. One night, he decides to take his thumb out of his mouth and leave his bedroom for a magical world filled with animals and green forests and blue seas. He looks to see which animals suck their thumbs like him only to discover that many animals do not even have thumbs. He finally realizes all the important things he does with his thumbs and fingers besides sucking on them in his mouth. It’s a great excuse for parents to act out the characters of the various animals while reading aloud.

I bought this book since it came highly rated and my husband and I are trying to come up with all sorts of ways to help my son stop sucking his thumb. Well, what a waste of money, if I could request my money back, I would. This book doesn't even address thumbsucking and I doubt my 3 year old son even made a connection to his thumbsucking and the fact that all these animals don't have thumbs to suck. We tried to discuss it with him after reading it, but he was just too disinterested. I buy alot of books off of Amazon and I think $14.99 is way too high for this paperback book. I cannot recommend this book.

A fun story for little ones on all the animals that don't suck their thumbs and why. End of story is what thumbs ARE for and what you CAN do.

This book is just terrific for kids between 3 and 6 or so who suck their thumbs. The illustrations are great and colorful and appealing and the book turns the idea of NOT sucking your thumb into a fun game. Very clever.

Highly recommend!!
