Why Global Poverty?: A Companion Guide to the Film "The End of Poverty?"

Global poverty did not just happen: it is the result of the geo-politics of injustice stretching back centuries and continuing to our day. This book presents notes on the production of the film "The End of Poverty?", a complete transcript of the film, and over seventy full interviews - including Joseph Stiglitz, Amartya Sen, John Perkins, Chalmers Johnson, Susan George, and Eric Toussaint - to give an in-depth account of the methods of global economic domination and ways to remedy worldwide injustice.

5a companion to an crucial documentary  Dec 05, 2010
By Friend "Sylvanus"
This documentary is excellent, in all ways. The book gives background and text to the many people, both academics and individuals, who were interviewed. It explores the questions of whether neoliberal policies promote growth, or are merely a reframing of colonial policies under a new guise. Watch the documentary, read the book, and decide for yourself.

1Completely Useless  Sep 17, 2010
By Reader
This book is completely useless - it looks like they just wanted to make some easy money. Most importantly, there are no background interviews in there. No comparison to the PBS film and book Commanding Heights. I wanted to give it a "zero star" but that is not possible.
