great ideas about glass ceilings Feb 22, 2010
By Kirstin J. Cronn-Mills This book is an excellent read. Dr. Shoars provides some solid perspectives about the nature of glass ceilings, including the ideas that glass ceilings are not static, nor are they all the same shape. Those theories seem unique and radical--and HELPFUL. His examinations of power positions, gender, societal roles, and organizational culture are enlightening, and his application of feminism and mentoring to glass ceilings is quite smart. While the book covers woman-to-woman mentoring in the radio industry, the lessons learned in WOMEN UNDER GLASS are applicable to all industries.
