broke my bottle Nov 14, 2007 Have you ever had the feeling that your whole life is lived inside a bottle? This book has such a real life, common sense view on why people have made the big religions the huge success that they have become that it just broke my bottle.
It's like "Of course! Why didn't I see that before?"
If only the Iraq war planners had had some idea what they were up against before launching the war then the USA might actually be winning now.

new viewpoint on history Oct 22, 2007 This book really gets at the very very basics of human life. I was floored by many ideas in this book. Women only were given the right to vote, etc when small, easily concealed and easy to load and fire handguns became generally available... Angels were humanity's desire to fly like birds... Birds fly in the sky so heaven must be up, not down... God was mostly a desire for justice and protection, which is being replaced by court systems, police, prisons...
Many archetypes that shape everyone's life are identified in this book. Really opened my mind to new viewpoints. Amazing.

mind expanding book Oct 21, 2007 This is really a mind opening book. Although not everyone will be in agreement with this new perspective on the history of mankind, the ideas presented in this book are certainly thought provoking. And these new viewpoints on the Bible (as it is the original book which Islam, Christianity, and Judaism are based on) certainly are difficult if not impossible to refute. After all, the words are there for anyone to read.
The book's first chapter outlines the tremendous changes that have occurred in the past century in the Arab nations and the great influence that some of them wield on the world stage today. The author's insight into particularly the Saud family's actions are humorous.
Then we get a real life perspective on Paganism as it was practiced in its day, and how the prophet Muhammad created a new religion loosely based on the stories of the Bible. We also are told about the Hypocrites, which was a major organized religion for some 1,500 years. The Hypocrites had meeting houses, regular meetings and teachings and acted together for their common defence. Now a forgotten practice, the Hypocrites were forced to go underground by the Christians (as Christ derides the Hypocrites in several of the Gospels) and have now become western medical doctors (they do all take the Hypocratical Oath...).
It describes how Islam is a religion for herders and Christianity is a religion for farmers, as these were the predominant occupations in the areas under the influence of these religions. And what does the shepherd carry in his hands? That's right, a big stick. And what does he do with the stick? He hits the animals to control them. That's why Islam is based on the threat of violence and the use of violence, whereas Christianity is based upon people living in close proximity in peace, as farmers must.
It describes how Islam has a meteorite at its core (the pilgrimage to Mecca to throw stones at the flaming rock) whereas Christianity really has nothing at all.
It then examines the Torah (the Jewish Holy Book) which cannot be so easily dismissed as the psychotic rantings of genocidal herder priests. The reader might be surprised to know that nowhere in the Torah is there a belief in One God, Good or Evil, Eternal Punishment. The Torah is basically a political document that animates the Jews to conquer the promised land and evict or exterminate the peoples living there previously so as to steal their land and their goods.
This is just the first chapter and the perspectives on the Bible writings are so numerous and thought provoking that this review would become onerous to read. Suffice it so say that great parts of the Old Testament are actually government propaganda preserved through thousands of years, as it consists of the curses of the prophets (nearly all of which have not come to pass in all this time and seem unlikely to ever occur) as the prophets were the equivalent of modern day press conferences and media blitzes launched by modern governments to prepare their people for war.
The real reason for the success of these religions IS the 7 day week (and the fact that millions of people were killed for refusing to submit to these invisible worlds that no one has ever been to).
The book describes in detail how western thought and current western ideals may become victorious in the battle for the hearts and minds of the Arab peoples and how government programs and individual and entrepreneurial effort could in the next few years make big steps in that direction, but only from a reality based viewpoint and certainly not from some weirder fantasy than the current Islamic dogma of Jeenies populating the earth along with humans, and a copulating paradise after the man dies. Islamic women don't seem too put off by this paradise at this time where the lucky man continuously copulates with many women. But as the book says "they're probably not that interested".

WWWI, WHAT'S WRONG WITH ISLAM (A New Idea On How To Win The War) Oct 08, 2007 OK, this is really a new idea on how to win the war against Islam. In this book, written by an ex intelligence operative on the front line in the war with Islamic fundamentalists, the method by which western thought and principles will eventually completely destroy Islam (as communism is being destroyed)is outlined in detail. This method requires a substantial investment of both effort and capital from western governments (principally the USA) but also participation by average people in the USA and the UK.
Is it possible that Islamic thought will eventually be discredited and exposed to ridicule? Will this be possible from a Christian viewpoint, or is Christian dogma just as absurd (or even more ridiculous) than Islamic thought? This book explains in unarguable detail just where these religious ideas came from (as described in the very Bible itself) and how these primitive concepts evolved over time (all these evolutions of thought can be read in the Bible itself) into a crowd control philosophy that was propagated by the rulers in both the Islamic and Christian dominated areas under threat of being burned alive (Christianity) or having one's throat cut or being stoned (Islam). A modern person should ask oneself "If these religions were so good, why was not believing in their invisible worlds punished by being killed?" The only reason would be that the threat of being killed horribly is the only reason that the average person could be convinced to believe in the total nonsense that makes up Christian and Islamic dogma today.
This book clearly, logically describes in minute detail not only how primitive where the original concepts described in the Bible, such as God separating the waters above(sky) from the waters below (sea). In other words the writer of Genesis thought that the sky was full of water (since it is blue like the sea)with taps that Yaweh opened to let the rain fall. The people in those days looked at the sea and the horizon and thought that the horizon seperated the waters above in the blue sky from the sea and kept it from falling on them.
Also the Great Flood is explained in this book. People can walk around mountain tops these days (and in the past) and find fossil seashells. It was obvious to the ancients that the seashells had lived underwater so it was also obvious that the sea had been higher than the mountain tops. That's where the Great Flood came from...
The real success of the Christian Judeo islamic tradition is because of the week, yes the seven day week. This is really the basis of the 3 religions that people like. Try to get a group of employees to work 30 days per month. You will be lucky to survive the experience. The USA culture has won out worlwide and is widely admired because we have invented the weekend,TGIF, hump day. People everywhere (women, slaves, the oppressed) were won over to these religions because they were guaranteed a day of rest every 6 days. A bit of paradise right here on Earth.
These gems and many other mind opening insights into the world as it was then and continues to be today are sprinkled liberally throughout each chapter. One has to reach the conclusion that Islam and Christianity are really a colective psychological trauma suffered by hundreds of millions of people who lived under the constant threat of being burned alive by the Gotts (Gods, Goths) or having their throats cut by the Arabs. The inquisition lasted for some 600 years and some 10,000,000 Europeans were killed by the Christian Gotts and this is the real reason why there are so many Christians today. It's like a person who has been raped and beaten for their entire life, and their children are born into the same situation for generations. Eventually the domination of the blonde blue eyed Gotts (Gods Goths) became so established that it was no longer necessary to beat the people to convince them to accept the Gotts as their masters. It became ritualized and that's why there are Christians today still following meaningless and strange rituals.
If you have felt that something was wrong in this world and that the Christian, Islamic dogma was somehow poisoning the minds of hundreds of millions of people right at this very moment, read this book and see exactly how that feeling is true and can be logically traced through the writings in the very Holy Bible. Set your mind free and clear your mind by reading this book.
