Your Money, Day One: How to Start Right and End Rich

Your Money, Day One poses this question to young adults: Will you control your money or will your money control you? Emphasizing starting early as the key to success, it champions the ‘pay yourself first’ budgeting plan, the wonders of compound interest, effective habit building, and the role of an emergency fund, and cautions on the lures and risks of credit card debt. Written with humor and anecdotes, Your Money, Day One provides the basic financial knowledge needed and details the personal responsibility necessary to ensure a successful financial future.

5Give Your Young Adult This Gift Now  Aug 09, 2009
If you are a parent of a teen or a young adult about to embark on four or more years of college, this is one of the most tangible gifts you can give your young adult now. This book is a wonderful and comprehensive money management resource written in a way that flows easily, yet teaches you the basics of how to manage and invest your money. As a parent of a recent college graduate and a sixteen year old, I truly wish this book would become part of the curriculum in schools across America, as I do not believe there is anything being taught currently like this. Our children would certainly benefit from the skills that this book has to offer.

5An excellent resource for young adults  Jul 22, 2009
This is an excellent resource, especially for teens and young adults, but would be useful for anyone to learn how to manage their money. This book teaches you everything you need to know about your personal finances in a way that is easy to understand. It gives you all the practical, real-world things you don't learn in school! Very helpful!

5Practically...perfect!  Jul 15, 2009
Having worked as a teacher/administrator for the past 6 years, along with being the parent of two teenagers, I have witnessed the voids that exist between traditional education and necessary life skills. Mike Wagner's book provides a practical and applicable exploration into one of the most important areas for a young adult. Mike has an understanding of how to speak WITH kids, enlightening them and providing the fundamentals of investing and finance that will benefit them immediately, and for the rest of their lives. And in light of our current economic trends, some "older" folks might benefit from the read, as well!!

Fantastic book! It has EVERYTHING your child will need to start their money management off right. This is one purchase you will not regret making! Consider it an investment for your childs future! Hey, you might even learn one or two things along the way too!? :)

5Necessary information for any teen  Jul 10, 2009
I wish this book was available when I was a teen - 35 years ago or so. Having this information - and getting off to the right start at that point would have had a material affect on how I treated money in my early years - and would have fixed habits that took years to mend.

Mr. Wagner's book is easy to read, informative and engaging. It treats the reader intelligently - striking a balanced tone that makes it easy for a teen reader - even one glued to his video game or her cell phone (can you tell, I'm a parent) to get through. Excellent summer reading and a vital foundational piece for future life learnings.
