Elegant in it's simplicity May 08, 2009

I have read dozens of interview books. This one makes the most sense. The author breaks the interview process apart into tangible, doable pieces. The thing I liked the most about it is the candidate goes into the interview armed with everything they need to know to answer any question asked. The book lays out a simple game plan for success. This eliminates all the wasted time and effort most people spend preparing for the interview. The book is built around the importance of personalizing your interview to avoid sounding like every other candidate the interview board has to sit through. The text is also well-written and easy to follow. Even better, it's humorous in many parts - not your typical dry approach to the subject matter. The book is written around fire service employment interviews (both entrance and promotional interviews) but the concepts are broad enough to fit any employment interview.
